OK....
So Christmas in Korea was not the same as it is in the states. We didn't have any snow, it rained and it was warm. So I wouldn't classify that as a Christmas. The one thing that I had to keep reminding myself of was that Christmas is about our Lord's birth and not about what you receive or what the weather is like.
We started off the celebrations with the battalion Christmas party. It was an opportunity for all the soldiers of 4-2 to celebrate the holidays together and bring their families with if they wanted too. It was a lot of fun to watch. They had a raffle of some pretty expensive items. The biggest item was a TV, that a katusa won. He was so excited about it!
On the decorations front, we were able to get a REAL tree! It was really nice to have that smell in the house. MMMMMM the smell of woods in your apartment! It was all decorated and beautiful. Very patriotic! All we could find was red, white and blue ornaments. Nikolas' mom sent over an angel topper which was beautiful. We had a wreath on the door and the stockings were hung on the air conditioner with car. Hoping that St. Nikolas would soon be there.
We had presents for both Nikolas and I. It was Colt's first Christmas, so we had to have something for him....
It was so much fun to watch him open them! We were able to talk to both our parent which, was hard cause we both wanted to be home to celebrate with everyone. But we had each other!
